Recycle Right Incursion
On Monday 3rd of March, Year Two students participated in the Recycle Right incursion provided by the Cardinia Shire. The hands-on experience allowed the students to explore recycling and how to dispose of different types of waste. We looked at how rubbish gets into the ocean by washing away with the rain. We were introduced to the saying 'Take 3 for the Sea' to encourage us to pick up and take three pieces of rubbish home from the environment to protect the sea. The instructor, Christie, brought along the green, red and yellow bins we have at home and we sorted waste items into each bin, learning about what happens to each waste material during recycling. The children were encouraged to go home and check they have the correct waste in the correct bins at home.
