The Church Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday
My passion is music and I sing and perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Our repertoire is largely classical music but I have also sung at the AFL Grand Final, the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games and I have sung for the Queen and with John Farnham and Barbra Striesand.
I enjoy adventures and new challenges and hence have indulged in trekking in Nepal, bungy jumping, fire walking, white water rafting and skydiving. Needless to say these won’t be part of the extra-curricula activities offered at St Clare’s.
What a delight it is for me to be here at St Clare’s and working with you and your children.
This year you will find me in Foundation, working alongside the teachers and students. During my teaching career I have taught Foundation for many years (I have even taught some of our teachers) and never cease to be amazed by the honesty and openness of five year olds!
You may also find me behind the camera lens. I’m always looking to capture those special smiles and memories around St Clare’s!
I love to travel!! I have lived in the USA at the age of 15 (this was on a student exchange) and after graduating from university I taught in London. My favourite travel adventure was 6 weeks through East Africa.
I am often called an ‘Odd Victorian’ as I proudly support Melbourne Storm and the Queensland Maroons.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, baking, shopping and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading a good book and going to the movies. This year I’m looking forward to being able to go and see a live AFL match again (fingers crossed). Go Pies!
Miss Samantha Ferguson - My name is Samantha Ferguson and I am thrilled to be in my third year teaching Year 3 at St Clare's. Before teaching, I spent a year as an ESO at the school while finishing off my degree at University. Throughout my professional and educational career, I have spent the majority of my life driven by a passion to teach and a passion for music and language. My goal as a teacher is to create a fun and supportive learning environment that caters to the needs of each individual, as well as to foster a love for learning within each student that's built on our school's values.
