Continuation of Remote Schooling
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers
The Victorian State Government has announced that that the state-wide lockdown will continue from 11.59 pm Thursday 3 June 2021 until 11.59 pm on Thursday 10 June 2021.
This decision has been made to increase physical distancing across the population and prevent the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).
From Friday 4 June 2021 to Thursday 10 June 2021 (inclusive), all students at St Clare's Primary School will continue with the Remote Schooling program. This means that all students who can learn from home must learn from home, except where:
- parents, guardians or carers cannot work from home and no other arrangements can be made for the supervision of their child(ren)
- students are considered vulnerable, including:
- children in out-of-home care
- children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm
- children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).
Remote Schooling tasks will continue to be assigned to students by their teachers. Additional information about Remote Schooling and learning materials will be distributed to parents, guardians and carers to assist with the continuation of the Remote Schooling program.
We understand that there will be parents, guardians and carers who will need to send their child(ren) to school. I wish to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and school community will remain our highest priority.
If you need to send your child(ren) to school, please register your intention to send your child(ren) to St Clare's Primary School through the link below. This will enable us to ensure that we have sufficient staff on duty to supervise students in attendance. We ask that this is completed by 2pm Thursday 3 June so we can make thenecessary staffing arrangements.
Registration for Onsite Supervision
Please note that if you choose to send your child(ren) to school, your child(ren) will be supervised whilst undertaking the Remote Schooling program which has been designed by our school. As such, your child will be undertaking the same program as those children learning at home.
In addition, I wish to advise you that your child’s teacher will not necessarily be supervising your child on-site, but will continue to support your child through the Remote Schooling program as previously advised to you.
School staff will be available throughout the Remote Schooling program and you are asked to make contact directly with your child’s teacher if there are any concerns about your child’s wellbeing or learning program.
Both staff and students who are unwell must not attend the school. This includes those showing even mild symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).
People who have any symptoms of COVID-19, however mild, should seek medical advice and get tested immediately. The symptoms to watch out for are:
- loss or change in sense of smell or taste
- fever
- chills or sweats
- cough
- sore throat
- shortness of breath
- runny nose
In certain circumstances people may also experience headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
I appreciate that this is once again a challenging and uncertain time for all in our school community and I thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate Remote Schooling together.
If you have any questions or require additional support, please contact the school on 5940 6777
Yours sincerely
Helen Staindl
Principal
