Dear Parents and Guardians
Our year has begun exceptionally well and I especially welcome those of you who are new to our St Clare’s Community.
There are many new faces to see including our 88 Foundation students who form part of our overall enrolment of 555 students.
Our staff has been planning throughout the break to ensure all children will optimise an accelerated rate of progress. We are indeed fortunate to have such a high calibre staff whose dedication and professionalism ensure the best outcome for your children.
CHILD SAFETY AROUND PHOTOGRAPHS:
St Clare’s takes Child Safety very seriously and at all times, we do our utmost to ensure every child is safe and protected.
Hence, we acknowledge that parents like to take photos of their child to mark special events. However, there cannot be any images of other children in the photo - including incidental images in the background. Cyber Safety protocols warn against uploading photos of your child in identifiable uniforms or signage.
SAFETY IN AND NEAR THE SCHOOL GROUNDS:
Please always ensure that you travel at a safe and slow speed when in the school grounds and surrounding areas.
Traffic is congested – particularly at our pick-up time. As the children become more familiar with the routines, this will speed up a little – but there will always be traffic. Perhaps consider leaving from home just a few minutes later to avoid long queues in traffic. After 3:30pm any student not picked-up will be taken to the School Office by a staff member so they can be safely supervised.
Kiss and Drop is a two-minute zone and vehicles must pull into the parking bays before any child gets in or out of the car. If your child is not ready when you are at the front of the line, please do not be offended if a staff member asks you to do a loop. This will help with our traffic flow.
As the school continues to grow, so will our traffic so perhaps encourage your child to walk and meet you at a point not in the school grounds.
When meeting children at the gates, please ensure you maintain the appropriate physical distance. As an alternative, have your children meet you at an alternative point.
ABSENTEEISM
Every day counts at school – so please ensure your child attends each day provided they are well.
In the event of your child being absent, the school MUST be informed by 9:00am. This can be via email, through PAM, email or on the phone. In the case of an unexplained absence, you will be contacted via SMS and then telephone.
Please note that we are required by law to report unexplained or unreasonable absences to the relevant Government Authorities.
BIRTHDAYS:
These are wonderful times for celebrations and given we will have a number of birthdays over the course of our lives, it’s important that any acknowledgement is appropriate and not an interruption to student learning. Following COVID protocols though, we are not in a position to distribute gifts to the other children.
EMAILS to STAFF:
Staff email addresses are included for your convenience.
Just as in any workplace, there are some parameters around emails and our staff will respond to emails generally within two working days. If you email is urgent (such as a change in a pick-up arrangement for that day), it is best to contact the office.
Please be mindful of sending emails to staff between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, at this time they are occupied teaching and supervising students.

PAM - Parent Access Module
Here is the link for the St Clare's Parent Access Portal (PAM)
You username is the email address that you have registered with the school. The first time you log in we ask that you use the forgotten password feature to set your own password.
ALL parents must access PAM to receive up to date information and grant necessary permissions. Students will miss out on events if permission is not granted.
MEDICAL INFORMATION - When you update your child's medical information in PAM - PLEASE ensure this is accurate. The school must have current up to date asthma, allergy, anaphylaxis or medical plans for those students identified with these conditions and any other medical conditions such as diabetes or epilepsy. This is to ensure we have relevant information to assist your child with the management of these medical conditions.
Please ensure the school has your current contact details - this includes address, email, work numbers etc. To update details please email admin@stclaresofficer.catholic.edu.au or call 5940 6777. Through PAM parents are able to update your child's medical details.
