Dear Parents and Carers
Great News: Our school choir has been invited to sing and lead the Opening Prayer at the upcoming National Catholic Education Conference being held at the Melbourne Exhibition Building on 5 September. This is the first time in the history of the conference that Primary Students have led the prayer so this is quite an auspicious occasion. Congratulations Choir members – and congratulations Mr Baker.

Carpark Safety
Please always ensure that you travel at a safe and slow speed when in the school grounds and surrounding areas. Teh safety of all our children must be the priority.
Traffic is congested – particularly at our pick-up time. Perhaps consider leaving from home just a few minutes later to avoid long queues in traffic. After 3:30pm any student not picked-up will be taken to the School Office by a staff member so they can be safely supervised.
Kiss and Drop is a two-minute zone and vehicles must pull into the parking bays before any child gets in or out of the car. If your child is not ready when you are at the front of the line, please do not be offended if a staff member asks you to do a loop. This will help with our traffic flow. As the school continues to grow, so will our traffic so perhaps encourage your child to walk and meet you at a point not in the school grounds.
In this edition of SchoolTV - ANXIETY
Most young people today experience anxiety at some point in their life. Sometimes that slight rush of anxiety that occurs prior to an exam or sporting event, can enhance their performance. However, experiencing too much anxiety, over long periods of time, can be extremely damaging to their health and wellbeing. There is a difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ anxiety.
Statistics show, that the psychological health of young people today is far worse than it was a generation ago. This is having an adverse affect on children in both primary and secondary levels. Some of their issues of concern include stress, school, study, body image and friendship.
Parents need to be aware of the warning signs of ‘bad’ anxiety. There are preventative measures parents can implement as well as teaching kids the skills to cope more efficiently with their anxiety.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.

No parking signs
If there is a 'no parking' sign, you can stop for 2 minutes in that area:
if you are picking up or dropping off passengers or goods and you stay within 3 metres of your vehicle.
If you stop in, or partly in, an area showing a no parking sign and you are not picking up or dropping off passengers or goods, you are considered to be parked and can be fined. This is the case even if you stay with your vehicle
