Dear Parents and Carers
On Thursday 3 November at 10am we will hold the Official Blessing and Opening of our Jubilee Garden.
We invite all families to join us on this special day.
Upcoming School Closures - please note that there will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday 28 October, Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November.
SCHOOL DROP OFF - supervision of students onsite at school commences at 8.30am, therefore we remind you that students onsite prior to this time must be booked into Before School Care with Camp Australia.
OSHC ACCESS - there is now a designated external gate on Majestic Drive for access to Before and After School Care. Camp Australia has provided the code to parents who use the service, so they can open the gate as required to drop off or collect their children. The previous internal gate will now be locked at all times.
UNIFORM - all students are expected to be in full summer uniform frm Monday 17 October, this includes the school hat.
Mystery Jars & Free Dress Day
St Clare’s will be holding a free dress day on Thursday October 27. Students are invited to wear free dress in exchange for the donation of a jar containing a child’s prize for the Twilight Market.
The Market is being held on November 18th, 5 pm -8 pm. The Mystery Jars will become the prizes at one of the Parents and Friends stalls.
Jars can be any size and must contain items appropriate for children. It would be preferable if the jars could have a screw top lid as they are safer for the children to carry.
Prize items must be new, reasonably priced ($10 or under is more than acceptable) and may include things such as:
- Small toys (cars, bubbles, cards, figets etc)
- Stationery items (easers, crayons etc)
- Hair accessories or kids toiletries
- Christmas decorations
- Non-perishable food items (eg wrapped lollies, small biscuits, chip packets etc) .
All food items must be wrapped in their original packaging for safety reasons.
A small sample jars if you would like some ideas are below.
Thank you for your support,
St Clare’s Parents and Friends Committee
On Monday the Year One students, teachers and some parents went on an excursion to Scienceworks to learn about space and weather.
First, all of the year ones went on a bus to Scienceworks, the bus took over one hour to get to there.
When we arrived, we then went and watched Tycho goes to Mars in the Planetarium. We layed back on the chairs and watched a movie on the ceiling, we also learnt about the planets and stars.
Next, we quickly walked to the Lightning Room to watch the weather show. A lady called Andy made different types of weather. She made air, clouds, lightning and static electricity. When Andy made lightning it was very loud we made sure we covered our ears.
Afterwards, we ate our lunch outside in the amphitheatre.
Later we walked around in small groups and tried the different activities in Scienceworks. We got to create a future car on a screen and climb a rock wall.
Finally, we all met up and took the roll we then got on the bus and drove back to school.
There were so many fun activities we could do. We all had a really fun day learning about science and all the things in our sky!
Sienna 3SB - I loved camp because we did fun activities and saw penguins.
Jett 3AJ - The penguins were cute. They were funny waddling in small groups.
Harper 3SB - I enjoyed having all my friends in my cabin.
Rhys 3TT - I enjoyed the Penguin Paradde as penguins are one of my favourite animals.
Evie 3LP - I liked when we went to the Penguin Parade. The pengguind were funny when they waddled.
Ernest 3SB - I liked the Penguin Parade as we got to see baby penguins, that were cute.
Holy 3AJ - I liked going to the Nobbies as I got to see a penguin nest and a whale.
Goay 3TT - My favourite part was Churchill Island. I liked the animals and the old houses.
Tadhg 3LP - I enjoyed learning about Phillip Island. I learnt that the Little Penguins are the smallest penguin and grow to 33 cm tall.
Charli 3TT - It was great to see the penguins waddling to shore. I liked seeing all the animals at Churchill Island.
Chaputh 3LP - Camp was fun and it is important to stay with your group. The way the koalas sat in the tree was funny.

In this edition of SchoolTV - DIET & NUTRITION
We all know that diet and nutrition is vital to your child’s development and growth, but are you aware of the effects it has on your child’s brain development and how it can impact their academic achievement?
In this era of convenience, it is easy to reach for pre-packaged and processed foods to cope with busy schedules. However, these foods are usually packed full of sugar and salt which can have adverse health effects. Making a habit of reading food labels can help reduce the risks. It can also help to stabilise your child’s energy, improve their mood, maintain a healthy weight and improve their general wellbeing.
In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will discover practical advice for teaching your kids about the benefits of incorporating a healthy diet and good nutrition.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.
