Dear Parents and Carers
We hope that everyone had the opportunity to enjoy some family time over the long weekend.
Tomorrow, Thursday 3 November, we invite you to join us at 10am for the Official Blessing and Opening of the Jubilee Garden. We ask all students from Years 2 to 6 to be in full CORRECT summer uniform - worn perfectly and proudly. The Foundation and Year 1 students will have swimming as scheduled so will still need bathers and sports uniform.
There will be no single subject classes tomorrow and these will return as scheduled from Friday 4 November.
A Junior School Athletics Day (Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2) is planned for Monday 28 November. Keep your eyes out for further details. Parents will be invited to come along and spectate.
The New Award for our Staff:
As part of the new award, staff will be granted Time in Lieu for activities that happen
outside of the usual school day including camps. This means that when a camp occurs,
students will remain at home the following day.
This has prompted a review of all of our camps and I am keen to have your opinion also.
Please complete this survey to provide your feedback
Dear Parents and Guardians
We hope you all had a lovely little break. Next week here at OSHC we have national recycling week, where the children will get to create all different kinds of things such as robots and cars etc, we please ask that if you have any empty cardboard boxes or milk bottles etc that you are able to bring them in to add to our ever-growing collection so the children have lots of materials to choose from.
Due to our policies and procedures we please ask that you drop your child/children off at the door. We require parents to sign children in and out of the service. We are not able to bring your children down to the gate as this impacts our ratio requirements in the room. When children arrive in the morning please don't say goodbye at the gate. They must be escorted and signed in at the PSHC room. them being dropped at the gate and getting to the door we are unable to see them.
Kind regards
Chelsea and Pooja

Unfortunately, this year with the changes to legislation from DOSCEL we're not able to have inflatables on site. This year all students will be given a voucher to redeem on the night for a sausage in bread sponsored by Sway Homes. They will also be entered in to win a giant block of Cadbury Dairy Milk. We have many other activities planned for the kids to take part in. More information to come.

In this edition of SchoolTV - UNDERSTANDING ADOLESCENCE
Adolescence is the transitional stage of development that is usually associated with the teenage years. In 2018, the Australian Curriculum Assessment Authority, redefined adolescence as affecting young people aged between 10-24 years. During this time, they experience rapid physical, cognitive and psychosocial growth which affects how teenagers feel, think, make decisions and interact with the world around them.
During adolescence, a child's brain can be considered as being “under-construction”. The rate at which this progresses will vary depending on the individual and also their gender. As a result, some parents may view adolescence as stressful or difficult. However, it does not need to be. Setting boundaries, implementing consistent monitoring and maintaining a strong and loving connection will help families adjust during this time.
It is also an important time to keep the communication lines open through clear and age appropriate conversations. Speak openly about changes that they are experiencing and be conscious of their mental health as many of the conditions people confront in adulthood, can begin to manifest in adolescence.
In this edition of SchoolTV, adult carers can learn how to guide and best support their young person as they transition through adolescence.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.
