In this month of November, we remember those who have left a great impression on our lives. These are saints, friends, relatives and strangers alike. This month of remembrance also includes our memories of war, when untold soldiers made an ultimate sacrifice. Through their suffering and death, they paved the way for future generations to learn from the violence of conflict and commit to a safer world.
Carpark Safety
We remind everyone to please ensure you travel safely through the school carpark. With many vehicles and pedestrians it is important to be mindful of your speed and be aware of everthing around you.

Market News
The Market is almost here, and we can’t wait for our school community to come together again on Friday night. There are lots of reminders and information so make sure you read to the end of this news update.
The fun starts at 5 pm sharp – the main entry will be via the lower gates near the Admin building and ELC. There will be food trucks based in the car park so make sure to grab a coffee, potato twists, two types of ice cream and donuts on your way into the market. Our BBQ will be based near the grade 5/6 area, with a Tap and Go payment option available.
Car Parking
Car Parking can be a challenge when we all come together so please remember if you are parking in the street to be kind to our neighbours and avoid parking on nature strips, or blocking drive ways. The forecast is for good weather so you can always get your steps in by parking over the road at Arena and using the new path up to the school along the highway.
Parent Helpers
We’re lucky enough to have parent helpers for the night but some of them are doing a long day to make this market happen. If on the night you could jump in to give someone a quick break, make sure you go visit Mel Harding at the Raffle stall, where she will give you the quick induction and send you where we need you.
BBQ Vouchers & Chocolate Draw
All BBQ vouchers have been sent home this week. Bring it down to redeem your free sausage on the night. Lost vouchers will not be replaced.
Our Lucky Winner for the Chocolate Block will be drawn at 6:30 PM on the night!!!
Raffle Tickets
Raffle Tickets need to be returned during this week, ideally before the market. Remember they are $1 per ticket. Please make sure your NAME AND PHONE NUMBER are printed CLEARLY on the ticket stub to ensure you receive your prize, if drawn.
Raffle Draw will be at 7 pm – Ticket sales close at 6:50 PM
There are heaps of great prizes (activity vouchers, local restaurant vouchers and more)
1st - $250 Visa Gift Card
2nd - $100 Visa Gift Card
3rd - $50 Visa Gift Card
Meeting Point & Child Safety
This is a pretty big event and it is open to the public. We’ve created a meeting point if you get separated from your kids and we encourage you to use it. Most kids know the Welcome Room Door (where breakfast club is). It will be well signed and manned by the one and only Mel Harding who all St Clare’s Kids know. Get them to head there and we can make an announcement. We’ve taken all the precautions that we can and we encourage you to do the same, ensure that your children are supervised at all times. Remind them that any St Clare’s Parent helper will always have on Hi-Vis and many of the mums that do Fun Food Friday can help them.

Last Friday was the 11th November - Remembrance Day. At 10.45am the school stopped for a short Prayer Service followed by the Last Post and a minute of silence. The Rouse was then played.
Students across the school reflected on those who gave their lives for ourcountry in war and prayed for peace in our world.
Below is a poem written by Freya Molnar from 3AJ.
Don’t forget there are still opportunities to share in Masses or Prayer Services before the end of the year:
Foundation and Year 5 Wednesday 23 November 9.30am on site at St Clare’s
Year 6 Thursday 8 December Prayer Service 6pm as part of Year 6 Graduation
Whole School End of Year Mass Friday 16 December 9.30am on site at St Clare’s
In this edition of SchoolTV - RAISING GIRLS
Raising girls in today’s modern world can be a difficult path for parents and carers to navigate. These days, girls are transitioning to puberty a lot earlier than they used to and the physical, psychological and emotional changes they experience are challenging. As a result, by mid-adolescence, girls are twice as likely to develop mood disorders more so than boys.
Some parents and carers may feel uncertain about how best to support their daughter through the ups and downs of adolescence and how to keep the lines of communication open. With the rise of social media and technology, mental health difficulties in girls are increasing as often they are faced with online images that make it difficult to see themselves as acceptable. Ensuring a daughter’s opinions are heard and her views listened to, will go a long way towards making her feel loved and supported as she tries to establish her own identity.
In this edition of SchoolTV, adult carers will attain a clearer picture of what girls are wanting from their adult carers and how best to support them through adolescence.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.
